Job summary

The City of Kyle seeks a technically skilled instrumentation technician to maintain and optimize water and wastewater facilities using SCADA systems. You will inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment across water treatment sites and lift stations.

You will also support on-call rotations, document changes, and coordinate with contractors to ensure compatibility with existing control interfaces.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with two years in instrumentation, electrical or control systems.
• Class D Water/Wastewater License from TCEQ within one year of hire preferred.
• Associate degree or advanced training in instrumentation/electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect instrumentation and control systems daily; adjust, troubleshoot, and repair at water and wastewater sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of RTUs, VFDs, switchgear, radio telemetry, and analyzers.
