Job summary

City of Kyle, TX is seeking a motivated SCADA technician to maintain and optimize water and wastewater facilities under supervision. You will inspect instrumentation and control systems, perform preventive maintenance, calibrate equipment, and support remote monitoring operations.

The role requires at least two years in instrumentation or industrial control, a high school diploma, and a Class D license within a year.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in instrumentation, electrical maintenance, or industrial control systems.
• Valid Texas Driver License required within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Class D Water/Wastewater License issued by TCEQ within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspect instrumentation and control systems daily, perform adjustments, troubleshooting and repairs at water production facilities, pressure stations, storage tanks, and wastewater lift stations.
• Conduct functional testing, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing of electronic control equipment, RTUs, VFDs, and related systems.
• Calibrate, configure, and maintain analyzers, transmitters, and related equipment with proper records.
• Monitor SCADA system performance, document changes, identify failures, and prepare operational reports.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and vendors performing installations or specialized maintenance.
• Participate in on-call rotation including weekends and holidays, and respond to emergency calls within established timeframes.
• Perform facility site maintenance, safety inspections, and maintain organized work areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, and system components using asset management systems for inventory and records.
