Job summary

Copperas Cove is seeking a SCADA technician to operate, monitor, and maintain the water system’s SCADA components. The role includes data logging, chlorine residual checks, and routine maintenance of pumps and valves. Training will be provided on site, with licenses pursued as required by state regulations.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and a Texas driver’s license. On-call duties and safety compliance are essential parts of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License Class C or higher with insurable record.
• Minimum Experience: None, will train upon employment.
• Desired Experience: Water distribution operations or operations in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recording all pertinent data required by State, City, and department.
• Monitor and record data from the SCADA system.
• Monitor chlorine residuals within the water system.
• Perform accuracy tests on analyzers, transducers, and laboratory test kits monthly.
• Perform operational checks and maintain pump/storage facilities per regulations.
• Climb and inspect water storage tanks when required.
• Record and regulate chlorine bottles when required.
• Perform chlorinator, pump, and motor maintenance and repair.
• Respond to customer service complaints and emergencies as needed.
• Respond to bacteriological sampling when licensed.
• Repair and maintain control valves, check valves, and air releases.
• Troubleshoot minor electrical problems as required.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and on-call duties.
