Job summary

PMA Consultants is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Southeast Michigan. You will independently manage small-to-medium projects and coordinate with owners, designers, vendors, and internal teams from development through closeout.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of construction or PM experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in construction or project management.
• Water/wastewater infrastructure experience preferred; other complex projects considered.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders including owners, contractors, and vendors.
• Owner's representative or client-side PM experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects or priorities.
• Proficiency with project management software; Primavera P6 preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead meetings and present project information.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day project planning, construction execution, and delivery to meet design, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, resources, milestones, and governance processes.
• Coordinate design and construction delivery teams on the client's behalf.
• Review contractor and design-consultant schedules, budgets, submittals, and technical progress.
• Provide day-to-day site oversight and QA/QC observations during construction and closeout.
• Interface with owners, contractors, consultants, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Monitor milestones, changes, and financial performance; develop recovery plans when needed.
• Identify risks, track performance metrics, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Lead project meetings and drive effective communication across teams.
• Support contract administration, procurement, and change-order review.
• Assist with procurement documents, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project docs.
• Mentor junior staff and support their development.
• Maintain PM processes, tools, and reporting with internal and client teams.
• Occasional overtime/weekend work may be required.
