Job summary

PMA Consultants in Michigan is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large capital improvement programs for clients. You will oversee planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, while maintaining strong client relationships and coordinating with contractors and consultants.

The role requires hands-on leadership, mentorship, and governance for project controls, schedules, and budgets across multi-phase endeavors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; PE/PMP a plus.
• 12+ years in construction, infrastructure or project management.
• Water/wastewater experience preferred; other capital programs also considered.
• Experience delivering large, complex projects across multiple delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage large or multi-phase capital projects for clients.
• Provide senior leadership across planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Own day-to-day client relationship and act as primary contact for issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Establish governance, reporting standards, and PM tools.
• Oversee scopes, budgets, schedules, resources, milestones, and financials.
• Review schedules, budgets, submittals, changes, and technical progress.
• Lead resolution of complex project and contractual issues.
• Guide contract negotiations and change orders in client interests.
• Monitor performance, risks, and metrics; implement mitigations.
• Provide QA/QC observations during construction and closeout.
• Lead meetings and facilitate decision-making among teams.
• Mentor PMs and junior staff for professional growth.
• Contribute to procurement documents and project deliverables.
• Support firm-wide PM standards and process improvements.
