We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of infrastructure projects from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning, and handover. The role will involve managing projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, reservoirs, and associated civil, mechanical, and electrical works. You will be responsible for establishing project objectives, programmes, budgets, procurement strategies, and delivery plans while ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required technical and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and client representatives; monitoring progress, costs, risks, resources, and change control; and preparing clear reports for project stakeholders. You will oversee contract administration, commercial performance, technical reviews, permits, planning requirements, quality assurance, and health and safety compliance. The successful candidate will identify and resolve issues promptly, maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle, and ensure that completed assets are properly tested, commissioned, documented, and handed over to the relevant operators.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, along with substantial experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, as is experience with recognised forms of contract such as NEC or FIDIC. Strong knowledge of project controls, risk management, construction methodologies, and regulatory requirements is essential. You will need excellent leadership, negotiation, organisation, and communication skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective working relationships. A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused approach is required, along with a commitment to safety, sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement.
