We are seeking a Professional Engineer – Water/Wastewater to support the planning, design, delivery, and optimisation of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to a diverse portfolio involving water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage infrastructure, process upgrades, and associated civil works. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders to deliver practical, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, feasibility studies, designs, specifications, drawings, tender documentation, cost estimates, and construction support materials. You will undertake engineering analysis, hydraulic modelling, process assessments, condition evaluations, and options studies, while ensuring that designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, safety requirements, environmental obligations, and industry best practice. The role may also involve site inspections, construction support, commissioning assistance, project scheduling, risk management, progress reporting, and reviewing contractor submissions. You will be expected to identify technical issues, develop effective solutions, maintain accurate project documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery.
Applicants should hold a recognised degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or water engineering, together with professional registration or eligibility for registration where applicable. Demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure design and project delivery is highly desirable, along with knowledge of relevant codes, guidelines, approval processes, and health and safety practices. Experience with engineering design and modelling software, project management systems, and technical documentation tools will be advantageous. Strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team.
