Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Project Manager with strong civil engineering and water/wastewater design experience in the Virginia region. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, perform analyses, and ensure designs meet standards while coordinating with clients and internal groups.

Ideal candidates have a PE license or ability to obtain within six months, 5+ years of experience, and solid MS Office skills. This hybrid Virginia-based role offers growth within a global firm and opportunities to mentor

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering.
• PE license in Virginia or able to obtain within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of drinking water or wastewater systems and processes.
• Able to manage time efficiently and meet schedules.
• Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self-motivated, team oriented, well organized, capable of multi‑tasking.
• Based in Hampton Roads, VA with regular meetings and field activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on wastewater and drinking water design projects.
• Perform preliminary engineering analyses and option assessments.
• Plan and design projects following standards and using design software.
• Evaluate and improve standard techniques to meet project goals.
• Prepare technical reports and input for investigations or solutions.
• Guide drawings and specifications, coordinating with staff and QA/QC.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and offices; review others’ work.
• Attend project meetings and interface with clients.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in external professional activities.
• Possibly supervise project engineers as task managers or PMs.
