Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Walnut Creek, California invites a Civil/Process Engineer to join a growing water practice.

You will work independently on smaller projects and with teams on larger water/wastewater projects, performing calculations, design sketches, and reports while supporting business development. The role emphasizes coordinating with project managers, clients, and agencies, driving technical and performance standards, and contributing to successful permit activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Professional Engineering designation in State of California.

Responsibilities

• Support growth of water and wastewater teams across markets.
• Perform complex engineering design tasks on projects with a Design Manager/Project Manager.
• Develop designs through sketches, models, diagrams and other visuals.
• Lead and coordinate engineering deliverables for projects, proposals and studies.
• Assist with establishing technical and performance standards for projects.
• Help manage project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Review submittals for compliance with documents and standards.
• Respond to RFIs and develop design changes for active construction projects.
• Assist with design/construction management of projects.
• Engage with clients, contractors and agencies during permitting.
• Understand regulatory drivers affecting projects.
• Ensure project needs are met timely and effectively.
