Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking both experienced and entry level Project Engineers to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Sanford, FL area.

The successful candidate will interface with the estimating department, Project Assistants and the Project Manager on construction management tasks necessary to build water and wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, developing purchase orders and subcontracts, maintaining project schedules, reviewing shop

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years of experience through internship in a related field, or project management/engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction management duties for water and wastewater facilities projects.
• Develop Purchase Order and Subcontractor Scopes of Work.
• Coordinate with Subcontractors and Vendors throughout the project.
• Identify and draft RFIs to Owner/Engineer.
• Maintain and update project schedules using scheduling software.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Procurement and expediting for long-lead equipment.
