Job summary

HRG is seeking a Project Engineer (Water & Wastewater) for our Swarthmore or King of Prussia, PA offices. You will lead design projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with clients and regulators to ensure successful, compliant outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, 8+ years of water/wastewater experience, and PE licensure (or ability to obtain within 6 months). The firm offers ESOP and a rewarding growth path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain it within 6 months highly preferred.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, process design, and industry-standard software.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to water and wastewater systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, including overnight stays.
• Valid US Driver’s License and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
• Prepare and review detailed plans, specifications, and technical reports for permitting and approvals.
• Perform and validate complex hydraulic and process calculations using advanced engineering software.
• Ensure assigned engineering tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Support client communication and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Assist with proposal development and technical input for business development efforts.
