Job summary

RESPEC, a leader in engineering and environmental solutions, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to contribute to projects across Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver. The role requires leading project teams on water and wastewater facilities and coordinating with municipal clients and agencies.

You will apply your PE credentials, hydraulic knowledge, and strong communication skills to deliver sustainable designs, budgets, and schedules with a client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater facilities.
• PE license or ability to obtain Colorado licensure by reciprocity.
• Experience leading tasks and coordinating project teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering tasks and coordinate project teams on water/wastewater projects.
• Design and supervise water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, and pumping systems.
• Collaborate with municipal clients and regulatory agencies to meet project goals.

RESPEC, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Water market sector, located in Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver, Colorado.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Minimum 8 years of experience related to water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping systems
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado licensure through reciprocity
• Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred:

• Experience serving as a technical lead on complex water and wastewater projects
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles and water/wastewater infrastructure
• Experience developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and professional service proposals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience working directly with municipal clients and regulatory agencies
• Active participation in professional organizations and industry conferences

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $100,000 to $155,000 Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
