Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a driven Process-Mechanical Engineer to work on water/wastewater projects in the Northwest and across the United States. You will join a core team of engineers and designers, focusing on studies, designs, and field assignments to deliver innovative solutions for client challenges.

The role emphasizes the development of process & mechanical design for treatment systems, construction documents, and client communication. A PE license and strong data analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with water/wastewater/industrial treatment
• Strong interest in treatment and mechanical system design and operation
• Self-motivation, teamwork, data analysis, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pumping, treatment, and process options to solve client challenges
• Communicate complex problems and solutions with clients
• Plan and design full-scale pumping, treatment systems, and improvements
• Develop facility layouts and P&IDs
• Prepare construction documents, drawings and specs
• Evaluate process equipment, pumping systems, pipes, and valves
• Perform data analysis and modeling
• Prepare technical reports
• Provide bidding and permitting support
• Support construction services and field inspections
