Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for our Water Preconstruction/Estimating team in the United States.

You will lead estimate and bid processes, coordinate with owners and design teams, and serve as a primary contact on pursuits, with allowances to support a Preconstruction Director on more complex projects. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering and 5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience.
Experience on municipal and/or industrial water and wastewater projects.
Experience with alternative delivery projects and GMPs.
Experience estimating self-perform disciplines.

Responsibilities

Participate in interviews and interview preparation for negotiated bids.
Lead estimate/bid process team meetings and act as Bid Captain.
Build relationships with owners, subcontractors, and vendors; represent the company on site and at events.
Track and manage project budget.
Prepare qualifications aligned with contractual obligations and submit documents for review.
Implement and oversee reconstruction and construction schedule.
Train project staff and manage risk with safety and EEO programs.
Maintain documentation/deliverables and present to the owner.
Participate in prequalification, RFP/RFQ responses, and buyout logs.
