Job summary

Haskell is seeking a seasoned estimator to own preconstruction cost estimation for large-volume water projects. You will lead the estimating team, develop detailed budgets, and guide bid packages through subcontractor and vendor bids.

Your role includes design review participation and presenting detailed estimates to stakeholders. You will mentor staff, maintain historical pricing data, and collaborate across departments to align with project goals and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent plus 5 years experience; or 8 years relevant experience.
• Water & wastewater construction experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Proven track record managing construction projects/phases.
• Ability to train others and monitor work for quality and completion.
• Experience managing support staff.
• Knowledge of bid practices with design-build & CMAR delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of detailed construction cost estimates from conceptual to final design.
• Manage and mentor estimating personnel with direction and oversight.
• Participate in design review meetings guiding the preconstruction phase.
• Evaluate design options based on cost, constructability, quality, and materials.
• Monitor scope, cost, and constructability to align with goals and budget.
• Lead pricing strategy with the proposal leader and deliverables.
• Develop bid packages and manage subcontractor/vendor participation.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
