Job summary

Haskell is seeking a Process Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities and industrial water projects. The role analyzes drawings, specs, and requirements to produce detailed quantity takeoffs for mechanical systems and equipment.

You will evaluate P&IDs, prepare budgets and bid proposals, assess risks, and support value engineering to optimize cost and performance. Collaboration with engineers and project teams is essential to success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience preferred or 15 years in the construction industry.
• Experience with water/wastewater or industrial water projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex mechanical and process design documents.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate P&IDs, mechanical equipment schedules, process piping layouts, and construction sequencing.
• Develop project budgets and competitive bid proposals.
• Perform risk assessments and identify potential cost or schedule impacts.
• Support value-engineering efforts to optimize project performance and cost.
• Apply knowledge of pumps, piping, valves, chemical feed systems, aeration, and other treatment equipment.
• Utilize estimating software and construction methodologies to produce accurate estimates.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Prepare complete bid packages with pricing summaries, clarifications, exclusions, and risk assessments.
