Job summary

WesTech seeks a Water/Wastewater Operations Technician in Texas to oversee daily plant operations, monitor water treatment processes, perform testing, and calibrate equipment. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork to maintain high performance at the Mont Belvieu site.

You will conduct sample testing, adjust treatment parameters, and perform preventive maintenance while coordinating with the team and clients to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of water/wastewater experience, including 1–3 years in field operations.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to train others on testing processes and fundamental water treatment concepts.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Conducts water sample testing to analyze plant performance and optimize operations.
• Maintains records and logs of plant activities.
• Calibrates mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment critical to operations.
• Diagnoses and repairs pumps, drive units, valves, and related components.
• Performs jar testing, chemical pump drawdowns, and maintenance of injection equipment.
• Communicates malfunctions clearly to minimize downtime.
• Monitors and adjusts TSS, pH, turbidity, TOC, and chemical reactions.
• Adheres to safety procedures and uses PPE; supports emergency responses.
• Documents data in MS Office; tracks performance and logs.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
