Job summary

WesTech Engineering is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operations Technician in Elko, Nevada. The role focuses on daily plant operations, water treatment processes, and chemical management to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation.

You will perform testing, calibration, and maintenance of equipment while documenting all activities. The position requires a commitment to safety, ability to work a 7 on/7 off schedule, and a valid driver's license. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts in a 7 on/7 off schedule (24/7 operation).
• Valid Driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes safety by following procedures, wearing PPE, and responding to emergencies.
• Conducts water sample testing to analyze plant performance.
• Maintains accurate records and logs of plant activities.
• Calibrates electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment critical to plant operations.
• Diagnoses and repairs pumps, drive units, valves, and related components.
• Communicates malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Monitors treatment processes and adjusts for parameters like pH, turbidity, and chemical reactions.
• Uses MS Office to document data and maintain records.
• Performs preventive maintenance and manages inventory.
