Job summary

The City of Fallon seeks qualified Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate a 9.7 MGD water facility and a 2.2 MGD SBR wastewater plant. The role requires experience and NV certifications; probation applies; OT may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years on-the-job experience as a water or wastewater treatment operator is preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate PLC-based control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a 9.7 MGD arsenic removal water treatment facility and a 2.2 MGD wastewater facility.
• Balance flows and maintain storage, monitor water quality, record data and reports.
• Operate SCADA and PC-based systems; troubleshoot chemical treatment and instrumentation.
• Respond to citizen inquiries and perform routine laboratory analyses and quality control.
• Work a 24/7 schedule; contribute to safety training and on-call duties.
