Job summary

The City of Fallon is seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain a 9.7 MGD arsenic removal water treatment facility, well field, booster stations, and a 2.2 MGD SBR wastewater facility.

Under general supervision, you will monitor chemical dosages, run SCADA/PC systems, perform routine laboratory analyses, keep accurate logs, and respond to citizen inquiries while supporting 24/7 operations and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment, chemicals, and safe work practices.
• Basic chemistry and hazardous chemical safety knowledge.
• Ability to operate and calibrate tools, instrumentation, and chemical feed systems.
• Ability to log operational data accurately in logbooks/databases.
• Ability to read manuals and communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment and distribution processes.
• Monitor flows, chemical dosages, and perform laboratory analyses.
• Troubleshoot equipment, analyzers, and control systems; generate work orders.
• Maintain safety, use PPE, and participate in safety training.
• Attend professional meetings and stay current with field trends.
