Job summary

City of Idaho Springs is seeking a Water Facilities Operator I to perform timely water and/or wastewater operations in compliance with State and Federal Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water regulations. The role focuses on the efficient operation of the Water Treatment Plant and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant.

This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, 40 hours per week, with occasional weekend/holiday overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Colorado Class D Certification for Water and Wastewater Operator within six months of hire.
• Colorado Water, Wastewater, Distribution and Collections Certifications desirable.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver License.
• Minimum 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Operate water and/or wastewater treatment plants per schedule.
• Perform general and routine equipment maintenance.
• Comply with State and Federal regulations and the daily maintenance plan.
• Work 40 hours per week with occasional weekend/holiday overtime.
