Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to direct staff and oversee routine and emergency functions for water and/or wastewater systems.

You will supervise wells, pumps, reservoirs, lift stations and plant equipment, respond to customer issues, and ensure safe, compliant operations across all sites. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance, and experience with SCADA systems and field inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ADEQ Grade IV certification in Water Distribution and/or Treatment (Arizona).
• 5–10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities; leadership/supervisory experience a plus.
• Arizona locations require ADEQ Grade IV in Water Distribution and/or Treatment.
• Valid state driver’s license; CDL may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily supervision of field staff in the repair, maintenance and inspection of wells, reservoirs, distribution lines and related facilities.
• Inspect wells, pumps, reservoirs, lift stations and plant equipment; respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Operate SCADA systems and control panels; troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, plan daily assignments, and train staff; maintain SOPs.
• Prepare performance metrics reports and budgeting input; support safety programs.
