McClure Engineering Company in Des Moines, IA seeks a Senior On-Site Representative/Resident Project Representative (RPR) to oversee construction engineering services on drinking water and wastewater projects. The Sr.

RPR will serve as the primary liaison between client, contractor and design team. The role requires reading plans, enforcing contract documents, preparing punch lists, monitoring pay estimates and change orders, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as Iowa SUDAS and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water, sanitary, and storm utilities, paving and grading, wastewater and water treatment.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and effectively enforce contract documents.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive punch lists and monitor completion.
• Understanding of pay estimates, change orders and record drawings.
• Ability to discuss contract meaning and contractor’s work product as the Owner’s agent when a disagreement arises.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and act in the Owner’s and McClure’s best interest.
• Experience with CAD/REVIT and other design software is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Iowa DOT TTCP and SUDAS standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities and ensure conformance with project documents.
• Enforce contract requirements and owner interests on-site.
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Prepare punch lists and track completion.
• Review pay estimates and change orders with the Owner.
• Maintain professional demeanor and effective communication on all assignments.
