Job summary

City of Statesville Public Utilities Department seeks a Skilled Laborer for the 4th Creek WWTP. This full-time, non-exempt role handles janitorial, landscaping, and repair tasks using hand and power tools across water and wastewater facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, plus a valid NC driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days. Benefits include health, retirement, holidays, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in janitorial, landscaping, and light repair maintenance.
• Valid NC driver’s license or ability to obtain within 60 days of establishing residence in NC.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscaping, light maintenance, and janitorial tasks in water/wastewater divisions.
• Operate front end deck mowers, zero turn mowers, turf tractors, and other power equipment.
• Mow areas around facility, tanks, pump stations, and other appurtenances.
• Assist operations and maintenance teams for repairs and operations.
• Perform ground and building maintenance and regular landscaping duties.
• Perform janitorial work and general cleaning.
