Job summary

City of Statesville (NC) seeks a Skilled Laborer for the 4th Creek WWTP to perform semi-skilled janitorial, landscaping, and repair duties within the water and wastewater divisions. You will operate mowers and power equipment and support maintenance teams.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic tools knowledge, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Workweek is Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with a closing date of 2026-10-08.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in janitorial, landscaping, and light repair/maintenance preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of janitorial and landscaping tasks and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of manual work for landscaping, light maintenance, and janitorial needs in water and wastewater divisions.
• Operates front end deck mowers, zero turn mowers, turf tractors, and other power equipment.
• Mows areas around the facility, tank sites, pump stations, and other appurtenances.
• Assists operations and maintenance teams as needed for repairs and operations.
• Performs ground and building maintenance and landscaping duties regularly.
• Performs janitorial work and general cleaning frequently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
