Job summary

The City of South Milwaukee Water/Wastewater Utility is seeking a pro who enjoys physical, outdoor work, and has experience or aptitude in construction-type work. Great team attitude is a must, current CDL is a plus. Must reside within fifteen miles of city limits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent credentials.
• Three years recent experience in water distribution or sanitary/storm water system construction, repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Read water meters and maintain records of installations, repairs, and tests.
• Tap water mains for service connections and locate underground utilities.
• Excavate and repair water/sewer mains, hydrants, valves, and catch basins.
• Operate equipment and vehicles for field maintenance and emergency response.
• Collect water samples for laboratory analysis and assist in plant operations as needed.
• Maintain prompt attendance and perform related duties as assigned.
