Job summary

City of Monona is seeking a full-time Municipal Technician to support the Street and Utilities divisions. You will operate a range of equipment, perform street maintenance, and assist with water, sewer, and storm water systems. Flexibility for on-call rotations and overtime is required.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid Wisconsin CDL (or ability to obtain within 1 year), and basic computer skills. Prior public works experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Wisconsin CDL or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Experience in water/public works preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment including dump trucks, loaders, excavators, and snowplows.
• Assist with maintenance of streets, curbs, sidewalks, and landscaping tasks.
• Support water, sewer, and storm water systems; monitor operations and perform basic maintenance.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and maintain daily records.
