Job summary

City of Grand Prairie is seeking a dedicated technician to help repair and maintain water distribution, wastewater collection, and water production components. You will respond to service calls, repair water and sewer lines, and assist with taps and hydrants, while performing preventative maintenance and CCTV inspections as required.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of related experience, and licenses including a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 30 days and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of related water/wastewater repair experience
• Valid Class A Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 30 days
• Class I Collections License within 6 months and Class C Distribution or Class II Collections License within 30 months

Responsibilities

• Repairs to water lines by responding to leaks, locating source, isolating segment, exposing and repairing, flushing, and ensuring safety.
• Repairs to sewer lines by exposing line, identifying problem, repairing, and maintaining safe site.
• Handle customer service calls for water turns on, leaks, and sewer issues; deploy with equipment to restore service.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including flushing, de-obstructing, and CCTV inspections as required.
• Assist with installation of sewer and water taps, exposing mains and testing for leaks.
• Repair hydrants and valves by isolating lines, replacing parts, and returning to service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
