Job summary

City of Palm Coast seeks entry-level to advanced utility technicians to perform maintenance, installation, and repair of water and sewer systems. Positions require driving, operation of heavy equipment, and adherence to safety standards. Tech I–III roles vary by experience and licenses.

Staff must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver’s license. CDL with Tanker endorsement and FWPCOA licenses enhance advancement prospects; on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Tech levels require CDL licenses and Wastewater licenses as applicable.
• Experience in public utilities or large-scale plumbing systems is preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and tools of the trade.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, installation, and repair on water/wastewater lines and related systems.
• Install taps, meters, backflows, and related components.
• Inspect and maintain lift stations and facilities; monitor gauges and perform water quality tasks.
• Coordinate with other utility crews on leaks, main breaks, and other critical events.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements; maintain maintenance records and reports.
