Job summary

The City of Ormond Beach is seeking a Maintenance Worker for wastewater collection and reuse systems. The role involves performing semi-skilled tasks across gravity, force main, low-pressure force main, and reclaimed water distribution, under supervision.

Availability for rotating on-call shifts and overtime is required. Responsibilities include operating pumps and machinery, installing and repairing piping and meters, clearing blockages, and assisting in preventative maintenance of vehicles and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related experience preferred.
• Ability to work heavy manual labor and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain CDL Class B license within 6 months of employment.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting materials to job sites.
• Operate pumps, saws, hand tools for excavation and restoration work.
• Use equipment including sewer jet cleaners and camera equipment.
• Install and repair piping, valves, meters, and related components.
• Clear blocked sewer lines using appropriate tools.
• Locate manholes and sewer cleanouts using drawings and tools.
• Assist with pressure testing, line cleaning, and root control.
• Maintain vehicles and tools and keep parts stocked.
• May perform minor electrical work as needed.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours duties; overtime possible.
