Job summary

Peak Water Services is seeking a Field Technician Trainee to support the operation, maintenance, and documentation of water and wastewater systems. You will gain hands-on experience under supervision, with duties including inspections, basic maintenance, sample collection, and on-call responsiveness.

The role requires travel within a three-hour radius of Helena, MT, and a Monday–Friday schedule. A valid driver’s license is required, and you’ll work outdoors in varying conditions with safety PPE.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use basic hand tools and small power tools safely.
• Reliable, able to follow directions and complete tasks.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation and after-hours work.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine water and wastewater system inspections.
• Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Assist with pump, valve, and equipment checks.
• Support lift station and treatment system maintenance.
• Assist with sample collection and delivery as assigned.
• Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, parts, and vehicles.
• Take photos and complete basic job notes.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Communicate issues and job status to the lead technician.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours calls.
