NEW Water is seeking a Field Services Technician to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain critical wastewater infrastructure while helping protect our community’s most valuable resource – water.

The Field Services Technician works hands-on with the critical infrastructure that moves wastewater throughout NEW Water’s service area. This position operates and maintains lift stations, meter stations, interceptor systems, and related equipment while monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, collecting wastewater data, and responding to emergencies.
This position is responsible for reviewing system performance and flow data, responding to alarms and high-flow events, troubleshooting equipment and metering issues, operating flow monitoring and sampling equipment, and conducting field inspections. The technician also supports NEW Water’s Pretreatment Program through industrial sampling and inspections, works with industrial and municipal customers, and collects accurate wastewater data to support regulatory compliance and customer wastewater treatment service billing.
The Field Services Technician also contributes to documentation, planning, and continuous improvement by maintaining work orders and field reports in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), updating procedures, coordinating maintenance activities, and supporting infrastructure and technology projects. A strong commitment to safety is essential, including confined space entry, work zone safety, lockout/tagout procedures, hazard identification, and proper maintenance of safety equipment. The work of the Field Services Technician is essential to keeping NEW Water’s wastewater conveyance system operating safely and reliably, while protecting public health and the environment.
As a Field Services Technician, you’ll work hands-on with the critical infrastructure that moves wastewater throughout our community.
