Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking a field-based technician to collect water and wastewater samples, monitor systems, and perform routine testing at facilities. You will assist with maintenance tasks, operate equipment, and document results while increasingly preparing for operator certification.

The position involves outdoor work, irregular hours, weekend shifts, and travel between sites. A High School diploma or GED is required, with certifications pursued after starting employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; knowledge of water and wastewater operations gained by specialized course and on-the-job training.
• Class D Water and/or D Wastewater Certification required within 12 months; Class C Ground Water and Wastewater Certification within 3 years of accepting position.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples and performs routine monitoring and testing of water and wastewater, including effluent samples, flows, and settable solids.
• Calibrates and logs pH meter and DO meter; checks chlorine residuals.
• Assists with general maintenance duties at facilities and cleans equipment and areas as described.
• Responds to customer service calls and completes paperwork in a timely manner.
• Job may require irregular hours, shift work, weekends, and being on call.
• Works outdoors with regular travel between sites.
