Job summary

Arcadis seeks an Environmental System Technician to join the Resilience Environment team in Novi, MI. The role is predominantly field-based (95-100%) and involves operating and maintaining wastewater and water treatment systems, collecting samples, and coordinating subcontractors.

You will support site operations, calibrate equipment, review data, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while communicating with project management to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of mechanical system O&M experience.
• Trade School certificate/diploma or higher degree preferred.
• Wastewater or environmental water treatment system experience preferred.
• Wastewater or water license certification preferred.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
• Confined Space Entry training.
• Behavioral-Based Safety training.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
• RCRA hazardous waste and DOT waste handling training.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office and familiar with Power BI, MS Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Perform remedial system O&M, troubleshooting, optimization, and monitoring, prioritizing health and safety.
• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust treatment plant machinery and equipment to meet metrics and codes.
• Perform system preventative maintenance and document activities per Quality Management System.
• Implement corrective actions when alarms trigger or safety/compliance issues arise.
• Review operational data and recommend improvements to meet system objectives.
• Collect system samples per permit and operational requirements.
• Calibrate and maintain controllers, electrodes, and flow/control equipment; prepare chemical mixes.
• Install and download data from IoT telemetry devices.
• Oversee subcontractors for operation, maintenance/repair in line with Health and Safety.
