Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Resilience Water team. This hybrid role can be based in any Ohio office or in Detroit, Michigan, and involves designing electrical systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities from planning through commissioning.

You will work on power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, instrumentation, and control systems, performing analyses and collaborating across disciplines to deliver resilient infrastructure for communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5 years of experience supporting water/wastewater projects.
• EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, instrumentation, communications, and control systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare engineering deliverables such as one-line diagrams, control schematics, specifications, plans, and design calculations using industry-standard design software.
• Perform power system analyses and technical studies to support safe, efficient, and resilient facility operations.
• Collaborate with project managers, process engineers, mechanical engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget.
• Support construction activities through submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, field investigations, and startup/commissioning support.
• Participate in client interactions, technical discussions, and proposal development while helping identify innovative solutions that address evolving infrastructure needs.
