Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental System Technician to join our Resilience Environment team in Novi, MI. This role involves extensive field work (95–100%) performing O&M on wastewater and water treatment systems, with site support across the region.

The ideal candidate has mechanical and electrical problem‑solving aptitude, understands drawings, and can manage data and safety in a fast-paced environment. Arcadis emphasizes hands-on, safe, and collaborative work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of mechanical system O&M experience.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot treatment systems.
• Comfort reading mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to spend 95–100% of time in the field.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust treatment plant equipment to meet performance metrics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure quality management compliance.
• Provide timely communication to project management about safety or equipment issues.
• Review operational data and recommend improvements.
• Collect system samples per permit and requirements.
• Oversee subcontractors for operation and maintenance tasks.
