Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division for the Treasure Coast region between Palm Bay and Port St. Lucie, FL.

The candidate will complete field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman, supporting layout, RFIs, shop drawings, and scheduling. The role requires a Civil/Mechanical/Construction Mgmt degree and strong written/verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Field purchase orders.
• Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.
