Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is hiring a Facility Operator Trainee to support wastewater facilities, lift stations, distribution systems and the wastewater collection system. Role reports to Field Supervisor and progresses toward licenses required by progression schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid US driver's license, and plans to obtain Class-B CDL with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements.

Qualifications

• Understand computers/tablets and basic office programs.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow operating instructions.
• Mathematical ability to perform ratios and dosages for process control.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Awareness of protecting water quality and environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at wastewater facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains sewer collection systems and pump stations.
• Troubleshoots and repairs service piping.
• Performs routine water quality analysis per procedures.
• Adjusts chemical treatment to meet water quality standards.
• Completes service work orders and documents activities.
