Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is hiring a Facility Operator I in the Wilmington area to support water production and wastewater facilities, lift stations, and the distribution system.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, no prior experience, and a valid U.S. driver's license. CDL Class C with Hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 90 days; on-call nights and weekends are required to ensure 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants and service lines.
• Maintains equipment at wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Operates and maintains sewer collection systems including mains and pump stations.
• Performs routine water quality analysis and adjusts treatments to meet standards.
• Completes work orders and documents activities per policies.
