Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to drive accurate, competitive budgets from bid through handoff. You will develop estimates for treatment facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure, and partner with operations to optimize project outcomes.

You should understand water/wastewater construction, perform takeoffs, assess risk, and craft schedules and cost-saving ideas. Strong communication and reading plans are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
