Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

The role requires understanding water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs. Collaboration during bid reviews and handoffs is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed concrete and heavy civil work is preferred.
• Ability to read plans, specs and contract documents.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations and piping.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, sequencing, logistics and constructability.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
