Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to lead cost planning for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from bid through handoff. You’ll evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

Develop estimates for treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure; perform quantity takeoffs; solicit subcontractor proposals; and collaborate with operations and project teams to set projects up for successful execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil work.
• Strong ability to read plans, specs, and contract documents for cost analysis.
• Experience with estimating tools: HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, OST.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.
