Job summary

B. is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will develop accurate estimates, perform takeoffs, and collaborate with operations and project management from bid through handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, not just perform takeoffs. Strong reading of plans and contract docs, plus experience with self-performed work, are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
