Job summary

B in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, develop accurate estimates, and partner with operations and project management from bid through handoff.

The role requires understanding of water/wastewater construction, self-performed work, and the ability to evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost beyond basic takeoffs. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Collaborate with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
