Job summary

B is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering with operations and project management from bid through handoff.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree and experience estimating water/wastewater projects, including self-performed concrete and heavy civil work, with strong skills in reading plans and performing quantity

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
