Job summary

B&B Concrete in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations from bid through project handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, not just perform takeoffs, and you will work with self-performed concrete and heavy civil elements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed concrete and heavy civil work.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong cost analysis and takeoff skills.
• Familiarity with estimating software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, and equipment.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope coverage.
• Assess phasing, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating.
• Identify risks, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed budgets and hand off estimates to project teams.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout post-award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.
