Job summary

Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an Engineering Unit Supervisor for the Water and Wastewater Services (WWS) Engineering Division. The role oversees professional engineers and contracts, guiding capital projects and divisional programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating interfaces with developers, GIS/CADD systems, and long-range planning, while ensuring compliance with policies and capital plans.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• Requires six (6) years progressively responsible professional engineering experience including two (2) years supervisory experience.
• Professional Engineer License in Florida for duration of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, and supervises engineering design projects and reviews.
• Directs field surveys, plan design, cost estimates, and specifications.
• Supervises analyses of studies prepared by consultants and prepares recommendations.
• Oversees right-of-way/construction plans for major thoroughfares and liaises with outside agencies.
• Manages contractors and oversees environmental licensing programs.
• Performs long-range studies and prepares reports and signs engineering plans.
