Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Engineering Unit Supervisor for the Water and Wastewater Services (WWS) Engineering Division. You will supervise engineers and technical staff, directing design, reviews, and major projects.

You will coordinate developer improvements, manage consultant contracts, and advance GIS/CADD capabilities while aligning with the division's capital plan and disaster preparedness initiatives in Broward County, Florida.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
Requires six years progressively responsible engineering experience, including two years supervisory.
Possesses and maintains Florida Professional Engineer license for duration of assignment.
Preferred advanced certifications such as BCEE, GISPro (GISP), PMP, PMI-CP.

Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates engineering design projects, field surveys, plans, cost estimates, and specifications.
Oversees consultants and negotiates contracts, master plan studies, and work authorizations.
Develops and maintains technical procedures, disaster preparedness plans, and division capital programs.
Coordinates water and wastewater improvements through developer agreements and UCPs; participates in capital planning.
