Job summary

STV is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern in Houston for an opportunity to work with our experienced team on meaningful projects. The hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office and offers a path from undergraduate to graduate-level involvement.

Responsibilities include hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, cost estimates, and design planning for water and wastewater systems while gaining exposure to project management and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
• Preference for experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design.
• Familiarity with modeling or design software is a plus.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry is a plus.

• Support pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Assist in pump calculations and system curves for sizing pumps.
• Prepare construction and design cost estimates under senior engineers’ guidance.
• Participate in planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
• Assist planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects, including pump stations and treatment plants.
• Gain exposure to project management, client interface, and business development for future projects.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installations.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for design conformance.
• Perform other tasks to support project goals and team objectives.

Job description

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Water/Wastewater Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

• Assist in the planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects, including pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Gain exposure to project management, client interface, and business development for future projects.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe construction installations.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.

Required.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications.

• Experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design is preferred.
• Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.

Compensation Range.

$50,242.00 - $57,094.00
