Job summary

STV is seeking an enthusiastic Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern to join our team in Austin. This hybrid internship is open to undergraduate and graduate-level candidates and requires at least 3 days per week in the office. Preference will be given to those able to commit for at least 3 months and to work full-time.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship. You will assist with hydraulic flow and pump sizing calculations, prepare cost estimates, and participate in the planning and design

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design preferred.
• Familiarity with modeling or design software is a plus.
• Experience in AEC industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Assist in pump calculations and developing system curves for sizing pumps.
• Prepare construction and design cost estimates under senior engineers.
• Participate in planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
• Assist in planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects, including pump stations and treatment plants.
• Gain exposure to project management, client interface, and business development for future projects.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installations.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for design compliance.
• Perform other tasks to support project goals.

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Support the performance of pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Assist in performing pump calculations and developing system curves for sizing pumps.
• Prepare construction and design cost estimates under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in the planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
• Assist in the planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects, including pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Gain exposure to project management, client interface, and business development for future projects.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe construction installations.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.

Required

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design is preferred.
• Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.

Compensation Range

$47,959.00 - $54,498.00
